Fritz and I played Glencairn near Milton (Ontario) this afternoon (Sunday, October 1/06), and although it was quite cloudy and windy early on, it was a great fall day without any rain. Later in the afternoon the sky turned blue and the sun came out.
Glencairn is a "links" style course with deep pot bunkers, long fescue, and hard, fast fairways. Unfortunately the fairways have been a bit mushy for the last couple of weeks due to the abundant rain we've had during most of September.
The fall colours have not been as spectacular this year as the past few years, but very beautiful nonetheless.
