Paradise Canyon Golf Resort in Lethbridge, Alberta was built in the early 1990's, as what their website refers to as an Arizona style resort course. Lethbridge is in the heart of the Alberta "badlands", about two hours south of Calgary.

The region gets an average of about 10 inches of rainfall. So we're talking dusty cowboy country here. The course is built in the valley of the Old Man River in what is known as Paradise Canyon. The banks of the river reach 100 feet in some places, and the golf course has used the landscape to very dramatic effect.
