Health Advice and Issues - Candidates in the upcoming US presidential election each have a position on the health care issues of the day. Democratic party candidates Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both want a fundamental change in the health care system, moving towards a more universal plan. Both claim their plans for health care would cover every American without being prohibitively expensive. The primary issue for both candidates is that under the current US health care system millions of Americans cannot afford health care insurance, and those that do are often at the mercy of health care insurance providers.

For example, on Obama's website it says, "Obama will make available a new national health plan to all Americans, including the self-employed and small businesses, to buy affordable health coverage that is similar to the plan available to members of Congress."
